Our Farm Family!
It takes a lot of hands to keep things running smoothly on the farm. Working together with friends is what makes it all worth it! When we are not busy with planting, markets, preparing your produce, fixing broken irrigation lines, chasing down escaped sheep, or keeping our community in the loop on social media, we often enjoy community farm dinners and a glass of wine together at the end of the day.
Robert is our Director of Operations. He keeps our finances in order, oversees plans for building and infrastructure projects, and keeps things running smoothly on the farm.
Shaleem (Shay) is our Director of Business and Ministry Development. She keeps our produce processed and fresh and oversees the market as well as overall business and ministry planning and coordinating.
Scott and Sherri are our Directors of Agriculture. Scott oversees all things that grow. He makes sure our soil is healthy and full of the important microorganisms that keep our food living and nutritious. From seedlings to fruits, he works hard to bring you the produce you love.
In addition to being Scott's right-hand lady in all things agriculture, Sherri loves to create fabulous dishes, drinks, and recipes from our farm produce. From kombuchas to jellies, to herbal drinks and more, Sherri makes sure nothing goes to waste on the farm. Sherri and Scott also oversee our community farm dinners, making sure we stop to enjoy the fruits of our labors together.
Travis is our Chief Handyman. He fixes, maintains, and builds; tackling our leaks and squeaks, he keeps our projects moving forward without a hitch. Talented and dependable, he tackles every job with excellence
.
Christina is our Director of Marketing and Social Media. She works wonders building our community connections and helps promote not only our products but our vendor's businesses as well. We love the beauty that she captures in her pictures and posts as she tells our community's story.
Our Founders
We wouldn't have Father's Farmhouse without the courage, hard work, and generosity of Domenico and Anna Manno. Newlywed, they immigrated from Sicily to San Diego, California in 1967. With a dream of building a prosperous future for their children, they worked hard for many years, saving, sacrificing, and investing. They purchased the 5-acre property, currently home of Father's Farmhouse, in 2003. For 16 years this property was home to family gatherings, Christmas citrus, homemade wine making, and olive trees. In 2019, completely unexpectedly they gifted this property to Robert and Shaleem as an early inheritance. Wanting to honor and steward well their gift, Robert and Shaleem founded the Farmhouse in 2020.
